they *do* don't they?! evil mountains... *stares at them* I guess a bit of correct shading would help...any ideas on how I could fix them??

Well, mountains are quite difficult, I have to say. I think it would help if they weren't just green. For instance, add some grey/brown-ish colour to suggest the rocks underneath them. (like this they're more like hills...?) And uhm, yeah well, they just lack a bit of structure overall, since there aren't any smooth mountains that are green as well xD I think rough parts of shading would help.
oh, and another thing: things that are far away and fade into the distance are often more grey--- like you can see here: [link]

thank you, I'll take that into consideration! ^-^ I'm not sure I can fix this one with GIMP, but next time I draw mountains I'll remember this! :)
